Shah Cheragh is a monument and a tomb of brothers Ahmad and Muhammad, sons of Mūsā al-Kādhim, the seventh Iman in Shiite Twelvers branch. It is the main pilgrimage site in the city of Shiraz, Fars Province, Iran.
Shah Cheragh itself derived from Persian terms of Shāh-é-Chérāgh which means "King of the Light" and it did represent very well in the interior of the building that gleaming of lights as it covered heavily with an intricate ornament of glassware and crystal.
It is amazing how the pilgrims still mourn their spiritual leader even though it's been pass away centuries ago. It is not a rare sight to see them crying heavily inside the tomb.
The decorative work in a mosaic of mirror glass is full of intricate details and high-quality finishing which is indeed a prominent trait of Persian craftsmen since long ago.
The smaller tomb is a separate hall but still in the same fascinating crystal artwork.
As a Muslim, I can easily enter the hall and make my prayer. For non-muslim visitors, you need a special guide that will show you which part of the hall is permissible and which one is not and also explain everything about the monument. And of course, male and female will need to enter from a dedicated separate entrance. But its free of charge.
