Ivy had always been a very tall girl. In fact, she towered over most of
the men in her life which lead to her fascination with the Amazons. She thought it was amazing that there was a group of all-women warriors, so she made it her goal to be just like them. It started with martial arts when she was young, and as she grew she began archery, swordsmanship, spear fighting, and ax throwing. Ivy wanted to be just like the woman she grew up idolizing and in truth, she was more like them than she gave herself credit for. This doesn’t mean that she mastered all the skills she set out to learn, in fact, she stuck close to the phrase jack of all trades. Most of her time was spent practicing the broad sword. She just seemed to gravitate toward the Viking-esque weapon.
She grew up to be extremely beautiful. Not typical beauty. With her well over 6’6’ stature and thick curly long red hair. Ivy had a face that looked like art, not pretty but made you think. She had rough pale skin that held a deep scar along the left side of her jaw, the remnants of a childhood accident. Her eyes were her most piercing feature; they were a startling green that never looked the same twice. Sometimes they were a light forest, but in an instant could shift to a deep pine.No ivy wasn’t a typical beauty she was the kind of woman that when you looked at her all you could think was mommy. She just had that effect on people, and really no one was complaining about it. After all, who doesn’t want a Viking of a woman in their life?
While she was a marvel to behold Ivy grew up being an outcast as she never
fit into society’s standards. This coupled with her medieval fighting styles it was no surprise that she ended up gravitating to the renaissance fair. After all, when you travel to a place where everyone at one point has felt out of place it tends to build a rather accepting community. She also fell in love with dressing up, there is just something magical about being more than yourself. Over the years of spending time at the fair, she learned that she could put her medieval skills to good use, she learned that while in an accepting environment, she could show off and not be ridiculed for being less than a “Lady” as her conservative grandmother put it.
This brings us to where Ivy met Jane. Ivy had spent the morning
getting ready for the ren fair. She had recently gotten a new Viking costume which cost a small fortune, but it seemed a small price to pay for the amount of joy it brought her. The faux fur-lined boots that reached just below her knees, the leather chest plate that looked as if it were made from dragon scales with gold embellishments. But what was the real show-stopper of this costume was the cloak. The thick fabric just barely grazed the ground and the edge was hand-embroidered with Celtic knots. The gold thread was a stark contrast to the rich brown fabric that made up the majority of the piece. All around the shoulders of the cloak was a gray faux fur that was thick enough to have kept any real Viking warm.
Ivy had always struggled with taming her hair after all the red mane very closely resembled a certain Scottish princess. So more often than not she left it down, this never took away from her overall appearance because she had a knack for makeup. Between the dark mask she created around her eyes to the dramatic war paint drawn to look like Celtic rune for strength right in between her eyebrows, Ivy truly looked as if she had stepped out of the pages of a history book.
As was Ivy’s tradition the first thing she did when she arrived at the
fair was to do a quick walk-through to see what she would later be spending more time at. During her walk around she would stop to look at any vendors that caught her eye. Just because Ivy was drawn to more masculine garb didn’t mean she didn’t like to gawk at the flower crowns, delicate jewelry, and crystals. What Ivy was most searching for; however, were games where she could best show off her more violent skills. Ivy was talented and she knew it. It also didn’t hurt that showing off would get her a lot of attention with the cute fairycore girls who attended the fair. Despite Ivy’s size, she wasn’t the most confident person, in fact, the only time when she felt sure of herself was when she was at the ren fair. So it goes without saying that she was absolutely hopeless when it came to talking to girls. In fact, her love life was a bit of a mess, her height made her intimidating and slightly unapproachable to the small fairy-like girls that she had grown to love.
On this particular day, Ivy would find herself forever grateful to one ren fair worker by the name of Ed Palentro. As Ivy was making her rounds she couldn’t help but overhear the loud commotion that was occurring just a few steps from her. She couldn’t hear exactly what was going on in fact all she could really gather was that some ren fair worker was trying to goad people into performing with him. It was at this point that Ivy knew how she was going to spend her first few hours at the fair. So with all the confidence of a four-year-old in a Batman T-shirt Ivy pushed through the crowd and challenged the young man.
Ed wasn’t much older than Ivy, about 27, and in all fairness, he wasn’t bad looking; he was around 5’9’’ with long icy blond hair that had one braid dangling by his right ear. His deep chocolate brown eyes had deep crow’s feet that were a beautiful indicator of his jovial outlook on life. One would never know by looking at him that once upon a time he had been like a sheep just following the crowd. In fact, it wasn’t until he started traveling with the ren fair six years ago that he stopped living for those around him and did something that truly made him happy. And since that decision, Ed hasn’t stopped smiling.
Ed let out a boisterous laugh and went to look down at Ivy only for him to slowly bring his head all the way back to be able to look her in the eyes. Ed found himself in awe at the Viking in front of him, and the woman’s smirk was not missed by him or the crowd surrounding the two. From the moment Ed saw her he knew that he was in the presence of another performer, and he was ecstatic, he let out another laugh this time it was not a boastful one it was pure joy. With a sweeping motion, he led the Viking to his ax-throwing stall.
Ivy, seeing the man’s love for a good show, gestured for him to go first. From past experiences she knew that this would allow for a more dramatic show, the man seemed to have the same thought as he made a show of acting as if he were the one who came up with this decision. Each was given three axes and in the man’s defense he wasn’t bad, but even he knew that he was beaten.
After both members had a chance to participate it was clear that Ivy
had won, with all three axes in the red center. The man had one in the center and two in the ring just beyond. At this point, it was Ivy’s turn to bend to his eye level and lord her victory over him. The man was a good sport about it, he stayed true to his character and acted aghast and put off, but the twinkle in the man's eye gave away that he was having the time of his life.
A girl of no more than 5 feet stood off to the side, watching the exchange between the young man and the giant of a woman. The girl, Jane, followed the contest, her soft amber eyes keenly tracking the strong confident movements of the giantess. Jane had always been a very confident and outgoing young lady. Well, lady is not quite right, as her crass language and no-bullshit attitude often left those who met her rather put off. After all, with Jane’s waist-length midnight black hair, nearly translucent skin, and her soft amber eyes everyone always expected her to be soft-spoken. That simply wasn’t the case, Jane was the kind of person who entered a room loudly and always knew what she wanted, and right at this moment, she wanted the giantess of a woman to notice her. Jane fluffed her black hair and made sure the purple violets that were braided her in were all facing the right way, then Jane began to smooth out her short lilac dress with white flowers painted on the bottom. She also made sure to straighten her corset top after all nothing builds confidence like head up, tits out. So with about 12% of a plan, Jane strutted her way over to her giantess and pulled on the cloak. The giant woman turned and started to look around, so with a roll of her eyes, Jane let out a cough. As the giantess looked down Jane could see the woman’s eyes widen. Before the Viking could say anything Jane blurted out “Watching you throw those axes was pretty impressive. Think you could throw me around?”
Jane watched the woman gape like a fish before stuttering out “Excuse me?”
Jane let out a soft laugh before she continued, “Look I think you’re hot and I know I am cute as fuck so why don’t we go out?”
Jane for the first time in her life felt slightly scared that she had maybe gone too far, but when the woman bent forward so they were at eye level and said: “That’s quite the mouth for such a little thing.” Jane’s face split into a shit-eating grin as her confidence returned. “How about you show me a good time at the fair and we’ll see where it goes?” Jane said as she slipped her hand into her giantess’.
After one year Ivy and Jane find themselves once again at the renaissance fair, this time however they are there for their one-year anniversary. Jane looked over to her giantess to marvel at her costume. Ivy was dressed like a demon queen, her red hair for once was completely straight and reached right above her ass. Which in Jane’s eyes looked phenomenal in the all-black dress, the dress was Jane’s pick, and the bodice was done in a halter top, with cut-outs to make sure Ivy’s shirt po-tit-oes could clearly be seen. And while the skirt was long there was a slit on either side that went well above her knees, showing off her long legs. Jane’s lips slowly stretched up into a smirk at her partners’ outfit. Then she looked down at what she herself was wearing, her body was draped with soft shimmering fabrics that just barely hung on her. The soft greens made her skin seem to glow and made her eyes look kind and inviting. It was a stark contrast to Jane’s personality, but Ivy was in charge of choosing, so Jane knew it would be something fairy-like. What Jane wasn’t expecting however were the enormous translucent wings that Ivy had surprised her with. They had gold leaf scattered through them making them seem to capture a rainbow when the light hit them. It was such a beautiful touch that Jane had almost cried when Ivy brought them out the previous night.
As per tradition, Ivy led Jane on the first walk around of the ren fair, the couple walked along hand in hand just chatting about random things they saw. It wasn’t until Ivy stopped in her tracks to stare at someone in the distance that Jane really took notice of her surroundings. Jane followed Ivy’s line of sight and saw that her giantess was staring at a man with icy blond hair. “Not to sound self-conscious but you don’t normally swing that way, Ivy?” Jane said in a questioning tone.
“Don’t you recognize him?” Ivy asked, looking down with a look of shock clear in her eyes.
“Do I recognize the random man working at a ren fair? No, not really.” Jane said, shaking her head with a slight smile on her face.
“That man is the reason we met,” Ivy said as her eyes were drawn back to the smiling man.
Jane stood on her tiptoes to try and get a better look at the man. “You mean the one from the ax-throwing contest?”
“The one and only,” Ivy said as she began to push her way through the crowd, Jane’s hand still in hers.
“Ivy where are we going?” Jane said with a slight protest.
“That man is the reason I met the love of my life. I’m going to thank him, and maybe brag about how cute my girl is.” Ivy said as the pair approached the man. Jane looked at her partner’s back with a slight blush.
The two girls made their way over to the grinning man. When Ivy made eye contact with Ed his grin turned into a full-on piano smile. “Well well well look at who we have here. If it isn’t my old friend the Viking.” Ed said as he threw his arms open in welcome.
When Ivy and Jane reached Ed, Ivy greeted him with a wide smile. “How are you?” Ivy asked.
“Can’t complain. After all, I’m doing what I love.” Ed answered looking up at Ivy.
“Good to hear. Look I’ve got someone I would like you to meet.” Ivy said as she stepped to the side to uncover Jane who was standing behind her. “This is my girlfriend Jane.”
Ed bent low in a sweeping bow before saying “It is a pleasure to meet you, my lady.”
“We wanted to say thank you if I hadn’t taken up your challenge we never would have met,” Ivy said, her smile turning soft and thankful.
Ed looked at both of the women in front of him, his face turning from carnival joy to shocked and then finally to touched. He would never admit it out loud, but he always wondered if what he did meant anything to anyone. And having these two not only remember him but also come to thank him a year later. Well, it meant the world to him. Putting his smile back in place he said to the women “Glad to be of service.”
It’s now several years later and as Ivy recalls this memory she looks
down at her beautiful girlfriend sleeping in her arms and smiles to herself. Remembering the ridiculous first meeting that led her to where she is now. Ivy lets out a small laugh.
Lost in her thoughts Ivy doesn’t notice Jane's eyes open. It wasn’t
until Jane said, “What are you thinking about my love?” That Ivy took notice of her Little Fairy.
“Do you remember when we first met?” Ivy asked, looking down.
Jane chuckled before giving Ivy a kiss on the cheek and standing up.
“Of course I do you looked so good throwing those axes I just
had to talk to you,” Jane said as she stretched the sleep away. Ivy smiled up at her beautiful Little Fairy before standing up and picking Jane up letting out a happy whoop as she spun them both around.
When Ivy finally put Jane down she said “You know what? I don’t think
We ever got that man’s name.”
Jane laughed at her girl before shaking her head and saying
“Maybe we should invite him for dinner next time we see him. You know make proper introductions”
