Just the Fridge

The entire family was gathered around the TV in the living room. The walls were wood paneling that had been painted white. The couch had the same flower pattern and wood accents that everyone seemed to own in the 80s. My parents and middle sister were sitting on the couch, my older brother on the coffee table. My baby sister and I were sitting on the floor, just inches from the 19” color TV that sat on top of a small dresser. My youngest daughter sat to my right.

“Wait, my siblings and I are all children. I’m in my childhood home. What’s my daughter doing here?” I thought. “This has to be a dream”

Just then we heard a loud crash come from the kitchen.

“It’s the fridge. It will stop soon,” my dad explained.

I ran to the kitchen to investigate anyway. The thunderous sound of pots and pans clanging together became more deafening with each step as I approached the doorway. A faceless creature floated just below the kitchen light. The faster the creature spun around the louder the clanging seemed to become.

“STOP!” I yelled at what felt to be the top of my lungs. Yet no sound came out. I felt like I was suffocating. Yes, this had to be a dream.
I opened my eyes. It felt as though something had me pinned to the bed. Paralyzed. My sheets were drenched with sweat. My heart was racing, just a little faster than my breathing.

“Calm down, it was just a horrible dream.” My heart rate and breathing started to slow. Finally able to sit up, I moved to the edge of the bed and stood up. I walked to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face. As I raised my head away from the sink my reflection caught my eye. I noticed scratch marks on my neck, a hand print around my throat.

“A dream within a dream,” I thought. I opened my eyes.

Lol... This is hilarious, but I understand that it can also come as a scary experience when you have to wake up from multiple dreams. At a point, even when you are already awake in reality, a part of you will still be imagining that you may still be in one of those dreamy lands. Hehe.

Nice post. Saw this on @dreemport

Hello @gothmzknight. A dream within a dream. Sounds good to me. There's no reason why it can't happen.

Thanks for sharing.

I can so much relate to this. Waking up to find out you are still in another dream. So scary... I'm glad it was all just a dream.

@dreemport

I can relate to this..
Most dreams are so so confusing
But it's still a dream anyway
