A pilot that practices in a simulator has a better change to survive real combat over a pilot that has never used a simulator. Dreams give us a chance to live real worries, real dilemas, real problems in a simulated state. Many of us have come up with good ideas, solutions, even musical hits after dreams. Dreaming gave us a survival advantage. Those that dreamed, lived. Those that didn't aren't with us. Dogs dream, elephants dream, humans dream. It's a natural biological process, as natural as breathing and blowing your nose. There is zero evidence of dreams being part of a parallel universe, as fascinating and exciting as such ideas may be.
