At the Doctors Office 😷

in #sicklife7 years ago

So I'm at my PCP AGAIN and I'm curious to see how many drugs he'll try to push on me this time around. I never seem to visit without him wanting to give me 2 or 3 meds for this or that. It's really ridiculous!

I want to FIX the problem NOT cover up the symptoms! This seems to be the norm for most doctor visits.

Anyone else have this problem? Or have to school your doctor on medication or treatments? I feel like I should be getting paid for the visit not him!

Being a doctor I laughed and laughed. You are right. I don't see a doctor because I know what will happen. We as doctors are so heavily regulated to take a certain path of age related testing and then treating numbers that the system has become ridiculous. And if we don't, we get dragged to court. It is a tough situation for the doc and the patient.

O I bet! Law suits are so ridiculous now days!

If you want to discuss anything privately I am happy to send you my email or phone

Hi, I've been a follower for a little while. I might have see you in the homesteaders Slack?
Anyway I live with chronic illness and although I dislike taking medication in general, I do have to take some that allow me to function.
I see you tag with Lupus, my cousin suffers from it as well. It's another of these insidious auto-immune diseases right? My generation have a high number of them, all different but all auto-immune. Do you have others in your family, as a matter of interest?
I think there is a strong link to some chemical exposure on my grand or great grandfathers side.
Lol probably oversharing :-)
With these chronic illnesses there's not any point saying get well, or I hope you feel better soon so I'll just say, I hope you are ok and can get back on the level soon.
