Local Coin Shop Find 4-19-2022

In 2017 Johnson Matthey, celebrated their 200th anniversary. Opening in 1817, as assayers, of Precious Metals, Johnson Matthey, were the go-to company, for purity testing, of Precious Metals.
IMG_6223.jpg This, 2004, 986.2 Troy Ounces, Johnson Matthey Silver Bar, 99.9% pure, was available, at the Local Coin Shop, for around, $27,000(USD). Yes, out of my price range. But, I did score some other Johnson Matthey Silver Art Rounds, at $31, each, out of the scratch & dent junk box.

These Silver beauties, were part of ten rounds, Bill of Rights, series.

The original, retired, Series exists, in a Mint sleeve/page, of a JM Company, and are hard to find, but, still out there. The United States of America's Constitution, recognizes, The United States of America, Bill of Rights, are God given Rights.

The JM Company was bought out by, Asahi of Japan, in 2015. The Johnson Matthey name was retired, making, JM Art Bars & Rounds highly sought after. Asahi, today, makes decent, Silver (.999) Bars & rounds, but don't seem to have the Art quality, of old vintage Silver Bars, of yesteryear.

This is not intended to be financial advice. This is all about a fun hobby, of collecting & stacking Silver Coins and such. Thanks again for checking it out, on #silvergoldstackers, where Stackers show & share their treasures thought & ideas.

Sort:

I don't think I will be seeing these 'Rights' rounds here in Canada, just the JM bars so far if the coins shows ever open again.

Thanks again for looking and commenting, Kerris L Ravenhill - @kerrislravenhill. Yes, A Coin Show is one of the best sources for Stackers. I hope yours opens up again, soon.

Why not they were made in Canada

I haven't seen these in my local shops and shows at all.
Maybe all exported to the US, or melted down back in early 1980s. 😒

Love JM stuff I have some real low mintage stuff of theirs

Thanks again for looking and commenting, @silverd510. Keep stacking.

Vintage!
Stack on, my friend @cve3.

Thanks again for looking and showing your interest, SILVER SAVER - @silversaver888. I thought about you, this morning, when I stepped onto to my digital scales. Weight down to 188.8 pounds.

Hahaha!!!
That is one awesome number, @cve3 !!!

A beautiful Johnson Matthey coin. All the silver produced by this Company stand out. The designs are so beautiful, its like the designs stick out a little. Almost 3d if you observe it from an angle !

Thanks for looking & commenting, @olympicdragon. Yes, a lot of the older Silver items had some pretty good Artists.

Beautiful piece 🙌

Keep collecting silver coins 👍 happy 200th anniversary for this precious Johnson Matthew
It's amazing Bar design, I love totally pure ones

Keep collecting more bars, these silver metals price get more values with years

This is beautiful. The first time I have seen The United States Silver Corporation. It may be an older coin, but it shines through especially the boat. It's very unique !

Gorgeous Morgan.
I get the feeling that premiums will get bigger in foreseeable future but it won't totally stop me from stacking. Who really knows how massaged the inventories of the Metals exchanges really are.
