Folks, here's a cool old round. I'm not sure which mint it's from. I did an ebay check, and people are asking a pretty good premium for these.
Who is Sam Boyd? Well, here's a copy from Wikipedia.
Samuel A. Boyd (April 23, 1910 – January 15, 1993) was an American entrepreneur, casino manager and developer. He was noted for introducing successful marketing, gambling and entertainment innovations into the casino gambling industry, as well as building one of the largest and most successful casino empires in the world.
Pretty sweet stagecoach image, and this round is in excellent condition.
I also read that the former UNLV Rebels played at the Sam Boyd Arena for 49 seasons in Whitney Nevada, until moving to Allegiant stadium in 2020.
So for the Las Vegas area, Sam Boyd was a pretty big deal.
Also it's real cold today.

Wow, that’s cold my friend!🥶
Looks like this cold front, is going to hang around till the weekend, stay warm!
Very cool Sam Boyd silver round, that’s definitely a very unique round!👍😊
It's cold, but it's been much colder... the real cold reminds you that you're alive. I love it in a strange way. It's hard to explain to people that have never experienced real hard cold like -50*c
Cheers my friend!
I definitely remember real cold from Colorado. -25 degrees Fahrenheit...🥶
It reminds you that you're alive, and also remind you to not do anything stupid Lol😇🤣
He’s one ugly muther!!!!!
He didn't get rich being pretty... maybe thats why his story resonates with me? 🤔
Yeah, it is pretty expensive, @fat-elvis !
Yeah, I remember Sam Boyd Stadium. Once I went to a Tool concert there. Only concert I've ever gone to and not remembered a thing about the next day. I'm still salty about that even though it was my own fault.
Interesting. Memories of life as a gambling entrepreneur. Are there similar tokens commemorating entrepreneurs in the alcohol and cigarette industry? Or do narco-barons also have their own tokens?
!HUG
Sam Boyd was a Vegas legend! That is a really cool round, I have a Silver Strike token with his picture on it as well.
