I guess if you look at it from the mints point of view, they aren’t looking for pure .999 they are looking at longevity and cost !😇
Also working on my post for today, the coin is French but very close to the same in size and purity as the Swiss one. It must have been a treaty at that point to keep the currencies between European nations interchangeable.
