The Royal Mint has released the seventh coin in its Royal Tudor Beasts Collection, featuring The Queen’s Panther. Designed by David Lawrence in collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, this silver coin celebrates the heraldry of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour. Inspired by the stone statues on the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace, the coin depicts the final beast visitors encounter before entering the palace.
The incensed panther is shown with flames emerging from its mouth and ears, symbolizing its legendary fragrant breath that attracted all creatures except the dragon, a fitting metaphor for strength and allure. Holding the Royal Coat of Arms of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, the panther represents their union and the legitimacy of their lineage.

The obverse of the coin features the first definitive portrait of King Charles III, while the reverse showcases the roaring panther in vivid detail. With its rich historical symbolism and connection to both the Tudor dynasty and the new reign of Charles III, this coin is a prized addition for collectors.
