Imagine that you could scientifically become a ghost..! 🤔
Some time ago, a group of scientists at the University of Irvine in California modified human cells that have the ability to hide!
This happened by relying on the squid genome, because the squid has the ability to change its color and hide as well, meaning that it is transparent or colorless.. Its color changes due to specialized cells called leucophores, and these cells contain membrane-bound molecules made of reflection proteins.
And when the light falls on it, it reflects it again.
Scientists took these cells and inserted into them a type of protein that helps in disguise, and its name is “Reflectin.” Later, the scientists were surprised by the amazing result, which is that the cells responded to the transmission, reflection and absorption of light.. Indeed, the cells disappeared.
These experiments are still under study and if they succeed, they will be a breakthrough in the history of science. Thank you for reading.
