The concept behind this cleansing method is the use of oil to dissolve oil that has hardened with impurities and found itself stuck in your pores.
__
The steam opens up your pores and allow the oil to be removed easily. It's best done at night.
__
The objective of using oil cleansing method is to deep cleanse while balancing your skin's oil production at the same time.
__
Primary oil should be castor oil as it has anti-inflammatory properties, heals and cleanses. Should be diluted with a secondary oil which depends on your skin type and property of the oil.
__
You can choose from organic, natural, cold pressed vegetable, seed or nut oils because of the nutrients, vitamins and fatty acids that they contain .eg coconut oil, extra Virgin olive oil sunflower seed oil . etc.
__
Dry skin: 10% castor oil to 90% secondary oil
__
Normal/balanced skin: 20% castor oil to 80% secondary oil
__
Oily skin: 30% castor oil to 70% secondary oil
__
Procedure
__

  1. Take your oil blend in your palm and massage your face in upward circular motion for a few minutes, concentrating on problem areas till you feel your pores are saturated
    __
  2. Soak a clean face towel in very warm water and place on your face for a few minutes till cool. Another way of steaming your face without a facial steamer. Then wipe off the oil.
    __
Repeat the second step 2-3 times.
    __
No need for a moisturiser afterwards.
    __
Do it once a week for soft, beautiful and glowing skin.
    __
Don't panic if you breakout at the onset, it is normal as castor oil is a purging oil. With time your skin will adjust and you will notice the difference.
    __
NB: Ensure you use a secondary oil that suits your skin type.
