Non-REM Sleep

  • Stage 1:
    • light-weight sleep
    • simply woke up
    • muscles relax with occasional twitches
    • eye movements area unit slow
  • Stage 2:
    • eye movements stop
    • slower brain waves, with occasional bursts of speedy brain waves
  • Stage 3:
    • happens presently once you go to sleep and principally within the half of the night
    • deep sleep
    • troublesome to awaken
    • giant slow brain waves, heart and metastasis rates area unit slow and muscles area unit relaxed

REM sleep

  • sometimes happens concerning ninety minutes once you go to sleep, and longer, deeper periods occur throughout the half of the night;
  • cycles along side the non-REM stages throughout the night
  • eyes move quickly behind closed eyelids.
  • respiratory, heart rate, and blood pressure are irregular
  • dreaming happens
  • arm and leg muscles area unit quickly paralytic.
