Keep An Eye Out For Me

in #slothicorn7 years ago

In all of my previous art work, the story didn’t develop until after I started drawing. I’d say 99% of the time, when I sit down to draw something, I have zero knowledge of anything being written. What typically happens is this: I get an idea of an image, I begin drawing it and about mid-way, literature is introduced. At that point, while drawing, I’m also surfing around DuckDuckGo gathering information about the drawing. This is that 1% not ‘that’ 1% that goes against the grain - The one where the story developed first and the 👁 followed.

For this one, Eye’s, you know who you are, Eye emptied out the tool box. Eye used: A2 paper and a paper stump for blending - A No.2 pencil for line work and a 4B, 6B and 8B graphite for shading - A black fine-tip pen for the iris, a white gel-pen separating the copper from blue and a 24 pack of Crayola’s:
d’ya get all that?

After
This is the story, accompanied by progress pictures, that forced my hand:

Before

I’m enjoying myself here at Steemit.com - This decentralized version of social networking is really clever. Having just completed my rookie season in crypto-space, executing tasks such as extracting private keys, properly hold Monero or navigate through this platform aren’t so technically challenging anymore.

Something I haven’t quite understood, however, is the amount of Eye’s we have here: 🤔

That’s a lot of Eye’s

The Replies and Upvotes seem to be proportionate. check! Although I’ve never been a member of facebook or twitter, I know that ‘F’ and that little Bird are their symbols. check! That ‘in’ I’m pretty sure is LinkedIn and I have no idea what that last symbol is but as far as I can tell, everything’s working. check! It looks like I’m a little heavy on the Eye’s.

Why is that? Disabled Upvote button? Can’t afford it? nah! Steemit’s free Did you have a keyboard malfunction? Maybe you just forgot. it happens Well I haven’t forgotten about you!

To show my appreciation and say thanks to all of the Eye’s that stop by and just Keep An Eye Out For Me - This Eye’s for you.

WOW!! This really makes me want to get back into drawing. Nice work

Thank you so much Brother Splatts, I really appreciate the encouraging words.

I am so happy to see you doing something photo realistic with tint of Salvadore Dali, who's my all time favorite artist. I would love to see it in real life, it looks like there;s a lot of work on the Dark of the eye, like it has been frantically scribbled almost to the point of digging into the paper.

Thank you! Should a trip to South Africa present itself @edprivat, I'll be sure to have the picture in-tow with me. You're right, I did the iris by drawing line after line after line, over and over, on top of each other shading with the paper stump in between each layer. Just to the point where the paper was fragile and ready to tear, that's where I stopped. Thanks again, I really appreciate all you've done for me here!

I have studied art and history of art in high school, which makes me a master in the art of being pedantic :) I do appreciate real hard work when I see it, as I am a drawer, I come from a family of drawers and artists!
Here is my brother's work as adesigner
Here is my father's work as a glass sculptor

I am trying to convince them to join Steemit but with no success for now !

I couldn’t stop fumbling over the shoes doing an ‘oooh-ahhh’ as I scrolled further. But your dad doing the stained glass is brilliant! I’m in the same situation, I know of a couple super talented people that would prosper over here yet they haven’t signed up.

OMG! Well done on the reward ! And 290 upvotes !!!! wuuuut :O you just broke the internet! All well deserved !

Man you’re not kidding! I’m so elated with the amount attention this drawing got, it leads me to believe I’m doing something right. Thanks for noticing Ed! And thank you EVERYone who’s supporting this drawing, it means a lot to me.

Just take it all in , and more will come, you can be proud!

Brutal todo, el concepto el dibujo, esta muy genial! =D

Te cuento por pasarte y dejar las palabras alentadoras. ¡Realmente lo aprecio!

Eye eye or is it aye aye Screenshot_20180326-095508.png

Is that an Eyeball in your mouth or a marble that looks like an Eyeball?

Just an eyeball but I see what you're seeing.

Great eye! Glad you included some of your other drawings as well. I'll wait a little to get back my 100% and I'll be right back for the upvote! Great job and color choice!

I always look forward to hearing what you have to say @pegarissimo. Thanks a lot for continuing to help me out and support what I'm doing around here! Those of you who haven't checked out his page yet, give it a look. He free-hands images, scans them to his screen and then colors them digitally. It's a pretty cool process.

again, nice post @dandays, keep up the storytelling and show/tell of your work!
