Hello Dears!

Today I bring for you a drawing that represents a personal challenge, since it contained small faces, in a collage type image, with different expressions. Although faces, like hands, are a delicate point for any artist, drawing expressions can be extremely complex and if we add to this the difficulty of a small size, it may seem like a nightmare, but, for the cartoonists, Each difficulty includes an opportunity to do something wonderful and the key to success is to constantly challenge yourself to do new things and venture into techniques and drawings that before, without a doubt, you could not have done.

The design comes out of a film called "Split", which deals with a man with dissociative identity disorder, also called multiple personality, who kidnaps a couple of girls while channeling "The Beast" a personality with what seems to be powers over humans, this movie is part of the same universe of the famous "Unbreakable" and soon will be released "Glass" a new installment of this saga that promises to be full of suspense.

I love that movie, I have some connection with people with "multiple personalities" and in today I dedicate this drawing to them.

Desing

This Fanmade is not a design of mine, but one found on the web, which I decided to make to my style.

Sketch

As always, make a sketch without many details with pencil, following the original design.

Skin

Now that I have the sketch, what I did was to take the skin-colored paint and point out the darker areas of the drawing, then with water to blur the lighter areas, which gives a contrast effect. I did the same technique systematically on all the faces of the drawing.

Eyes and Mouth

I want to make a confession, I love drawing eyes and I hate to draw mouths, but both features give expression to the face and require that you give them the details that will make them as expressive as possible. In the eyes I first draw the eyelashes that give the frame to the eye and then the lights, I make sure not to cover them with any type of paint or marker, then the dark pupils and later the irises. With the mouths I always complicate a little more and depend a lot on the position, in this case it was necessary to draw several and the most important thing is to be careful to draw the teeth since they are a difficult detail.

Shadows

While there was contrast due to the technique used for the base, shadows with black are necessary to add realism and depth.

Background

I had fun with the background, they know that I love diluting my markers, this time I took several shades of blue and diluted them with a wet brush, while the paper was still wet I drew some trembling notches that looked like breaks.
