An Illustration Process: "Hannya X Bushido"

in #slothicorn7 years ago

Hello Steemians! Hello world! Today here I am again and I'll be showing you another piece of illustration I made specifically meant for a tattoo. This illustration entitled: Hannya X Bushido

Here's the process!

Of course I began with a sketch, slowly pencilling to details. . .

Making this piece was an absolute challenge, took me too many hours just by sketching. I wanted to make primary line shadings, that is why I came up with a detailee design.

After the sketch is done, I outlined the figure.

Here's the outlined piece

The next step involves secondary shading, shadowing of the piece. I used a pencil to shade the corners of the design to make it more darker and not too plain.

Here's the process. . .

I wanted to make an option for my client. So the first piece was without a jaw. I had to save it in case he would decide to have it with jaw or not. So, I photocopied the first piece and continued making the jaw for him to choose.

Here's the final output.

Eventually, after the piece was finished. I had it tattooed on my client's arm.

Here's the first session

Added a little red kanji stroke on the top to make it more japanese-ish.

We had to stop on the tattoo after the lines were done, because of too much detail the skin was too tender to be shaded. So, we had to reschedule our next tattoo session.

Please stay tuned for more illustration processes, and hope you would also checkout the part 2 of this piece. Where I'll be shading and coloring it. We discussed the colors we'll use but I don't have to spoil you guys too much. 😂

Well, that's it for now. Thank you for checking out another process I made.

Have a good day people! Godspeed!
