With the surging popularity of smart assistant speakers like Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices this year, the concept of smart home tech has really piqued my interest. I picked up a Google Home and Nest thermostat recently to see what all the buzz is about, and I must say the added convenience and entertainment value that these two devices have provided me have totally sparked a new addiction to smart tech! I'm now dreaming up other crazy ways I can make my home smarter.
I love scouring tech blogs and YouTube channels now to find what other people are doing to smarten up their homes. Unfortunately, a lot of the popular name brand smart tech items, like the Phillips Hue lighting systems, tend to be pretty expensive. At least enough to make you really think about whether it's worth it to spend over $100 to be able to turn your lights on and off with your voice. Well, today I stumbled across this smart switch that can turn on or off any electronic device from your phone or smart speaker - Oh, and it's only $5!
Check it out. I think I'll get 5 or 10!
