We are at the dawn of what would seem a new technological revolution, it is undeniable. New needs and new solutions are on the world scene making itself noticed even by those who are not experts in the sector. There are very many projects that are entering the market, they come from anywhere in the world; after all, this is a metaphor of the very concept of blockchain and what is happening at a structural level in the technologies we use every day.
The projects that are taking shape, however, are so many that it is really difficult to understand which of them are really valid and which, in addition to resisting the test of time, will grow to become real giants that will accompany us while we loosen our usual tasks of everyday life.
Distinguishing then products and tools really useful in this whirlwind of novelty is not simple, there are so many.
So at this point the question arises "why SmartMesh is so successful?”.
Do not be surprised by the attention that is being created around SmartMesh and related products, this is happening for several very important reasons: it is attracting the attention of the big names in the sector, solving real problems and doing so with a already functioning infrastructure.
If we add that SmartMesh also brings enormous technological improvements that no one had ever implemented before, we have the perfect recipe for the success of the project.
Even illustrious personalities of this world have repeatedly expressed themselves positively towards SmartMesh, one of them is Vitalik Buterin (co-founder of Ethereum and of the magazine Bitcoin Magazine), but in the community we hear more and more often talk at all levels of this project with great ambitions.
Let's try to do some clarity and try to understand the importance of SmartMesh and what is its role in the increasingly famous (and now at the door) Raiden Network.
During a Tech Talk about Raiden Network, hosted by Bing Li (founder of MuYan Blockchain College) and the IBAF (International Blockchain Application Federation) where there was an important member of the Raiden and Henry team to relate the contents of the event Henry Wang (president of the IBAF, founder of Firefly SmartMesh) has been shown their vision on Raiden and what his introduction will entail.

More topics have been clarified during the Tech Talk. One of the points we have focused on is the importance of the Raiden token, RDN. The member of the Raiden development team explained to us that the token itself is not necessary for the Raiden Network to function; the token will not be involved at the protocol level, but will itself support Raiden.
But the importance of the token and the interest in RDN certainly does not end here.
Within the Raiden network, which is decentralized P2P, there must be algorithms that find the best paths between different nodes, for example to make payments between users or between their devices, and also services to control transactions so that they do not occur of cheating. Here come the light clients who work as if they were small routers that are installed on any device. Just think of the internet of things.
Any instrument in our possession and that we use daily can constitute a node, for example a mobile phone, an electrical appliance, a car or other. These nodes do not need to synchronize the whole blockchain, but only to sort information among themselves choosing, from time to time, which is the most convenient and fast route. These nodes can use the RDN token to support the costs of ancillary services in this interconnected and decentralized system.
It is immediately clear how fast and scalable a system of this type is. This would bring an improvement in the reference technology as we know it today which is unbelievable.
The positive and interesting aspects of the RDN token certainly do not end here; in fact, it has a maximum supply limit, this means that with the increase of its use it would correspond directly a higher evaluation of the token.
Increasing the token's value will allow the developer team to support themselves to implement Raiden's technology to bring more security to the Ethereum network we've come to appreciate over the past few years.
Let's see how they interface and interact with the Raiden network, of which SMD is a fundamental piece, with Ethereum.
First of all, it should not be forgotten that the two teams share some elements and that these developers constitute a connection between Raiden and Ethereum that gives a lot of confidence on the part of is following the project with interest. Project that is not only ambitious, but also solid and real utility.

The strong point of this technology is Raiden himself, who has the intrinsic ability to work with other EVM compatible blockchains.
But with the enlargement of the blockchain world and the arrival of more and more projects on the market, I would like to point out that Raiden can also be compatible with cross-chain token transactions. And this is really a huge strength.
If we think for a moment what kind of infrastructure this could create and its eventual capillarization, we can only be shocked by what Raiden Network, in conjunction with SmartMesh, can bring to the Internet every day.
Firefly SmartMesh is in fact a protocol for networks that allows any electronic device with connectivity to connect with other devices.
The connection is via WiFi, Bluetooth and other protocols. Let's imagine having a small router inside any electronic device.
This would create an infrastructure that aims to solve and bypass congestion problems in the most populated cities and also to bring the connection to billions of people not yet reached by classic dedicated infrastructure, which are often too expensive to be successfully implemented in developing countries or in geographically adverse locations.
Let's try to think that one of these nodes has free access to the Internet, so the whole network would be in turn enabled to browse freely on the Web pages distributed by SmartMesh. In addition, an alternative network can be created that is easier to manage, or can be specific to a particular sector depending on the needs of its users.
The implementation of SmarMesh micropayments on the Raiden Network would cover all the costs of the service and would also give an interesting incentive to any user to share content and connectivity with all other users.
Here we have a decentralized system of payments and connectivity, completely independent of trust mechanisms, which works at impressive speeds (just think that the speed of transactions on Raiden Network will be far greater than that of the VISA circuit we use today).

Now we understand why the SmartMesh project is so interesting: first of all because it solves a problem, that of transaction speed, and it does so by exploiting a winning technology, namely Raiden.
Today, Ethereum and its network are too slow. Despite its size Ethereum is colliding with technological problems that were showing its limits, and it is precisely here that Raiden Network and SmartMesh promise to turn the entire infrastructure as best you could want from a decentralized, secure and fast system .
There is still some work to do, but if we think about where they have arrived until today and the big names behind them (and especially their skills) we can say with absolute certainty how successful the project is, sure that in the near future can firmly establish itself in the market even more.
