Right next to the Amsterdam Central station, in the northern side, there is a river that divides the city from what it now seems that it once was its industrial zone; a suburb called "Amsterdam-Noord". This is the IJ river, pronounced "eye" - "ij" is combination of vowels in the Dutch language.
As you sit on the one shore of the IJ gazing at the north-west and let your eyes follow the course of the waters far in the horizon you will notice that that the industrial element is eminent in the scenery, yet in a calm and peaceful way. Cranks seem positioned very close to each other while the buildings in the distance seem abandoned.
As I was staring at the sunset, a sense of solitude embraced me, as if it was emitting from the scenery and was flooding the place around me.
