Thank you Wikipedia for that definition. Without light there isn’t photography. Light provides warmth, light conjures feelings, light helps us see, and without it musters up fear.
I can tell you what it means to me and show you how I use it to explore and share the world, but I can not expect you to view it the exact way I do.
So enjoy the light, I hope it bring you joy and happiness, warmth and comfort.

Light is the symbol of good, light is what allows us to clearly enjoy what surrounds us. very good photo! I do not speak English very well, but I enjoy interesting photos.

I love the warm orange glow of the tungsten type light bulb, and I really don't like the hard blue that many of the newer compact fluorescent bulbs put off. I like to use low wattage incandescent bulbs for the most part, it gives almost a candlelight feeling, which is great :)
I often look at apartment buildings here in the West End of Vancouver, and take note of the different lighting in different suites; for some, you'd think there is a massive "grow op" setup, as the lighting is so bright and blueish, while other suites have a nice reddish glow to them :) Then of course there is that milder bluish, always morphing light from all the screens, which is actually quite a nice light for the most part :)

Like how the filaments blur into a stronger glow as they disappear into the background. Simple but effective.

Light is Life. We cannot imagine our life without light. ... It is the most important factor that influenced the way life evolved on Earth. From photosynthesis, which is responsible for making food in plants to the beautiful world.
I love it! The simplest things just depend on your perspective. The bulbs are so simple but you know the electricity is going do fast you can't get a clear shot!

Every time Im in a homeware store that has these kind of retro bulbs I have to fight with myself to hold back from buying everything in sight. They look so nice. Especially when there's a few together like in your shot here.

Absolutely love how light works, @scottdphoto! What's also interesting that you are only seeing the reflection of the wavelengths of the visible spectrum that is NOT absorbed by the material you are looking at. So items, things, substance absorbs wavelengths, and reflects that which you are seeing.

The science behind light has always fascinates me. Light is indeed the most important element in the universe, without it, everything will be dark, and we won't be able to see the beauty around us. It also evoke a certain feeling when used in different environment; dim room, a bright candle, etc.
I love your picture. The sharp contrast and composition are well done. It always felt so romantic in this setting, and relaxing as well.
without the light we can not be anything, but it happens many times that without the light the best moments are given
