RE: Kefalonia - Greece

in #smartphonephotography7 years ago (edited)

I used to live in Athens, back in 1996. My students used to all rave about the islands they would spend their summer holidays on. As I was enjoying myself in the capital, I never quite got to visit any of theirs.

So, Kefalonia, what's so special about it, @sanel, compared to say, Zakynthos, Corfu or Crete which most people will be more familiar with? I mean, it does look nice but you've got to sell it! :D Do you live there or were you just visiting?

The name looks like the word, cephalon, meaning head in biology (forgive me if you already knew that). But that's pronounced with a soft c. Any idea if it's just a co-incidence or they're etymologically related?

Nice pic. Keep up the snapping! :)
