Travelers were limited to carrying a separate bulky satellite phone if they wanted to go to a far away place for camping or hiking etc, but not now, Thuyara X5- Touch is a complete satellite smartphone which do not require a GSM connection, it is the world's first android satellite smartphone.
It’s also the first phone which can switch between satellite and GSM connectivity with the push of a button.
Just like dual sim smartphones its status bar shows two signals one for the satellite connection and other for the GSM connection and the user can simply change to their desired connection. Being an android phone the X5- Touch has access to millions of play store apps providing the full smartphone experience in the remote areas of Himalayas.
The X5- Touch is ip-67 water and dust resistant and also has other connectivities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, "NFC. It also has an SOS button which is useful in case of an emergency.
Their is no detailed specifications about the phone yet but the company says that it has a huge battery, and also has a front and rear camera.
