Create A Short Film
So the main task for us filmmakers was to create a short film a minimum of 4 minutes in length, on any topic of our choice. Unfortunately for me, I discovered the quest about 5 days too late, and the last couple of days have been a mad rush to come out with something.
Luckily, I had been planning to do a piece exploring some street art I had visited, and had pretty much all of the footage I would need already, along with some Creative Commons light flickers, I had less than 2 days to put the whole thing together. It wasn't impossible, but I didn't exactly have the best selection of footage to work with. It's a shame I hadn't of found out about it sooner, however, I have managed to make an entry either way. It is not what I had imagined but with what I had, I am happy with it.
My favourite place in this video is the garden in Shoreditch - London made out of palettes. A friend took me there on an unexpected trip after a day of filming for a Telegraph event. It was the perfect spot to wind down. It reminds me of anti-fracking protest campsites. I'm not exactly what is is, and how come it's so god damn cool. But it's awesome and definitely inspired this short film to show it some love.
I did have A LOT of fun making this and visiting some really amazing places. I am also a big fan of Banksy, and have included some shots of his pieces at the Moco Museum in Amsterdam that I got on my last visit there. Amsterdam is such a vibrant and amazing city for culture. I felt like the garden in Shoreditch was a mini piece of Amsterdam. In London.
Welcome to the crazy, somewhat psychedelic, exploration into some of my favourite urban areas.
All the footage was shot on the Canon Rebel I am borrowing, it was all handheld to add to that edgy, rough kind of vibe I wanted it to have. I'm very experimental with my editing, so I guess I just had some fun with this. I would have loved to experiment with some even crazier effects if I had a little bit more footage and time. This is a project I will probably revisit and expand on in the future.

Thank you! It's not the best, the footage wasn't the best. But don't worry, I plan on doing more :D
