I went for a walk the other night.
It was the first time I had been out walking after dark in about as long as I can remember.
It wasn't warm out, but it wasn't cold either.
I had "My Room Becomes the Sea" by Sleepy Fish playing in my ear buds the whole time.
The beats drifted through my head down to my toes the same way the chilly night air blew through my sweatshirt to my skin.
I think I actually developed a cold, but the walk was worth it.
Sometimes we just need to go outside under the starry sky and reset.
Sometimes we just need to get away from all the things that distract us from our thoughts.
Sometimes we just need to let things process.

STOPWow! This was beautiful and introspective. Nothing better than to head out for some quiet time under the stars. I have found such peace lying in my front yard, under a warm blanket, hot chocolate in hand, staring up into the Heavens... catching shooting stars and following their trails across the sky. Or sitting in the mountains, where the silence is all-consuming and the sense of peace immeasurable. Self-imposed time-outs are gifts that we don't allow ourselves to experience enough. I had not heard of Sleepy Fish before. LOVE LOVE LOVE... Thank you so much for sharing this. You write with a special kind of ease. You should do this more often 🤗 !Hug
Thank you so much for this comment. I wrote that during a really difficult time in my life and I just had to get something out. I’m glad it came across as well-written. I’ll definitely be working on writing more often. Hopefully it will still be decent now that life has straightened itself out.
