Liverpool Defeat Newcastle 4-0

Liverpool continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League as they thumped Newcastle yesterday with a 4-0 victory.
Newcastle were the first to have a chance on goal, but Joselu was unable to convert a cross from Matt Ritchie. They ended up being punished for their wasted chance, as Liverpool soon found the net in the 11th minute with Dean Lovren scoring a lovely goal to put Liverpool ahead. Liverpool took control of the first half after their initial goal, creating a good number of opportunities that just couldn't find the net. The game eventually went into half time with Liverpool holding a 1 goal lead.
Just 2 minutes into the second half and Salah gets fouled in the box, winning a penalty for Liverpool. He goes on to take the spot kick and double their lead. Liverpool continue to dominate ball possession and keep pushing forward, with Newcastle now seeming to be concentrating on defence and trying to cope with Liverpool's attacking.
Liverpool get their third goal, with Shaqiri receiving a low cross from Alexander-Arnold and tapping it in. Liverpool with a 3 goal lead then reduce the intensity as they seem to be satisfied with just closing the game. Fabinho then still goes on to give his side a fourth goal, as he sends a powerful header into the net.
The final whistle is blown with Liverpool claiming another victory. Liverpool now sit 6 points above second position Tottenham and 7 points ahead of 3rd position Manchester City. Liverpool who spent Christmas at the top of the League will be happy as they are definitely going into the new year at the number one position.
