Pep Guardiola's star studded side have been by far the best team in the country this season, and they have been very consistent throughout the season, which makes them worthy winners of their 3rd Premier League title in their history.

In theory, everyone knew that it was a matter of 'when' not 'if' they win the league, but you don't win the league until it's mathematically confirmed, and now thanks to West Brom's win over Man.Utd the wait is finally over for The Citizens.

It will be a relief for all the players, staff and fans of the club after the recent disappointing spell that their club had, loosing 3 matches in a row in a matter of days, which saw them knocked out of the Champions League by fellow Premier League heavyweights Liverpool, before their impressive 1-3 win over Spurs at Wembley.

The Sky Blues have had an exceptional season in the league, winning an incredible 28 matches from 33, loosing only twice so far, and they have 87 points with 5 games remaining till the end of the season, a feat that is very impressive in any league, let alone in the most competitive league on the planet.

They have in fact a huge 16 points lead over their bitter rivals Man.Utd in the table, who currently occupy 2nd place in the table with 71 points.

Their top scorer in the league is their star Argentinian forward Sergio Aguero who has an impressive 21 goals & 6 assists in just 25 league appearances, but their best player this season has been Kevin De Bruyne, with the 26-year-old Belgian star scoring 7 goals and assisting a further 15 in the league.

This is Man.City's second piece of silverware this season, after they won the Carabao Cup(League Cup) earlier in the season, trashing Arsenal 3-0 in the final, and Pep Guardiola will be hoping this is just the start of a new golden era for The Citizens.

Sort:

They were the dominant force this season, but the next one can be a bit different.

I don't know if Salah will stay at Liverpool, but if he does I can see them doing extremely well and giving the Citizens run for their money.

Klopp has finally put all the pieces together and created a team that can win the league the next season. And if I remember correctly, you wouldn't be opposed to that idea :-)

They surely have been the dominant force this season and overall they played some fantastic football.

Liverpool need Salah to stay, he has been exceptional this season and he is such an important player for them, but i think he will stay put for now, as he has only just arrived and the future is looking bright for them right now.

Yeah i agree, it's looking like Klopp is finally gettng things right and Liverpool are turning into a real force now, and with Naby Keita coming in it looks like we only need 1/2 more players to be the full package. As you said i would not be opposed to that idea at all, i'm almost 25 -years-old now, and i have never seen Liverpool win the league, i think it's about time that i finally can have the joy to see us win one ! :)
