There has to be real alternatives to the social media giants. Facebook and Twitter are constantly going after conservative and libertarian voices.
I've read a few articles that list alternative sites, but none approach the convenience of Facebook. (I don't use Twitter enough to remember how to use it well enough to call it convenient).
In recent days, within weeks of the European Union elections, Facebook froze over 20 accounts of populist Italian sites. The constant suspending, freezing, hiding, and banning on the two big sites - not to mention YouTube - has put a true damper on free speech.
It's rumored that Facebook will even take disciplinary action against people who share Info Wars and Paul Joseph Watson content. And Facebook is even so serious about looking even handed that they threw Louis Farrakhan in with its banned persons.
For the time being, maybe a best course of action is for users to "publish" on multiple platforms. I love SteemIt, but most of my Internet friends don't live here.
