After looking around a bit, I figured I'd just come right out and ask -- are social media shares from Steemit rewarded?
For example...
If a Steemit user shares a steemit post on Facebook, do they receive curation or reputation rewards?
Forgive me if this is a basic question that's been discussed before, I'm still pretty new here. But I've read several posts lately that seem to address the question of how to increase Steemit's active userbase.
To be honest, I'd never heard of Steemit until I began researching blockchain for a work project. And as a fairly active social media user, I'm pretty sure I would have noticed content being shared from a place called Steemit -- had any of my friends/connections/followers done so.
It seems to me that if users here were somehow incentivized to frequently share content from Steemit (which, again -- maybe they are), the K factor would kick in almost immediately.
It's entirely possible that I'm missing something here -- and if so, please disregard :)
no i dont think shares give you a reward in that way, but they help to spread awareness about the site and the specific article which u shared, and that could help that post to earn more rewards? or at least that's my understanding anyways :)
I don't think so but if you share it and then your article gets really popular it could potentially recieve more votes. New users could discover Steemit and sign up just to upvote it.
Thx for the reply. I'm not necessarily talking about sharing my posts -- just Steemit content in general. Seems like a fairly direct way to evangelize this place, and turn 1 user into 1.7 users (or whatever).
I'm pretty certain if I'd seen users in my FB/Instagram/Twitter/LinkedIn feed sharing Steemit content over the last year, I would've at least come over to check it out. So the reward would probably fall under 'evangelism' or 'viral' if such a thing were to exist.....
Fair question
