Modernization is part of the planned social change. The change that occurs as a result of modernization depends on the policy of the ruler, which field will be changed through the modernization. Society must be prepared for the changes that take place as a result of modernization, because it is desired or unwanted that every society will inevitably undergo a change, especially as the impact of unfolded modernization.
Whether or not the change in society is realized, although sometimes the changes in it are not always conspicuous or very influential on the wider life. There are changes that are fast and cover the broad aspects, some are running very slowly. The change will be visible and can be found by someone who wants to examine the structure and life of a society in a certain time and compared with the composition and life of the community in the past.
Changes to the world's society are normal, whose influence rapidly spreads to other parts of the world, thanks in part to modern communications. New discoveries in technology, the occurrence of revolution, modernization and so on are happening somewhere, quickly can be known by other people who are located far from the place. The views of some people on rural, primitive or underdeveloped societies are static, undeveloped, and unchanging societies that are inappro- priate. This view arises from observations made only by cursory, in-depth, and inadequate research, because there can not be a society that does not change, it's just that the changes may be relatively slow or may be very slow. The point is that no society has not changed. Changes in society can concern social values, social norms, patterns of organizational behavior, organizational structures, layers in society, power and authority, social interaction, etc. 1 Modernization is essentially a process of change or renewal.
