Nowadays, I am questioning myself about Social Media, especially on Facebook.
My colleagues has a public page or closed groups for easy and quick communication with their families. This works wonderful in an absolutely terribly in the personal sense.
How am I supposed to separate my emotions and personal life when they cross over so much on my Social Media. How do I "Turn Off or Switch Off" and just relax, catching up on what family and friends have been up to on Facebook when my inbox keeps alerting me to new messages (90% of which are work related). Ive started pulling away from Facebook because this and are therefore missing out on lots of information because, lets face it, how else do we find out that my best friend and her fiancee got engaged on the weekend. I would be sooo far out of the social loop without Facebook.
If I was to ask a question to my friends - I would never ever dream of in boxing them on Facebook. I would always call or send an email to their work.
What is it about our line of work that makes people feel as though its ok to invade your personal privacy and contact you through personal inboxes or personal phones etc?
How are we ever supposed to separate our work and personal lives like most people?
Its certainly given me food for thought today :)
Happy Surfing ^_^
