The new ARC browser, DeSo and Focus, my deep dive for the week

in #social9 months ago

It's been another tech-filled week! This time, I explored the ARC browser by The Browser Company. They spend over $10 million a year and don't plan to charge for the browser, which I find incredible. I got early access thanks to following Brian Roemmele on X who finds and posts some very cool stuff. I have switched to using ARC exclusively. It's unique, offering AI assistance to streamline searches and customizable homepages, providing more flexibility than any other browser. It's designed around "framing" instead of apps, allowing for multitasking like watching videos while working on other web projects. Although there's a learning curve, it's been a time-saver for me. There are lots of videos from the team at The Browser Company

I also revisited DeSo, a decentralized social platform I tried a few years ago. Back then, I received some DeSo tokens, which were only worth a few cents but are now worth over $38 each. DeSo is similar to Twitter but enhanced for the web 3 era, allowing users to create personal pages with NFTs and their own currencies. It operates on a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) model, offering a chance to establish a personal democracy with tokens.

I've invested in a new DeSo blockchain platform called Focus, which suits artists and is akin to Patreon. Recently, I received nearly 10 DeSo tokens from generous contributors. While I've been deeply invested in these projects, I believe traditional platforms like Hive may soon fall behind as web 3 social networks evolve. What are your thoughts, for me the world of Web3 is a game-changer, having been on the forefront in the early days of the Internet I can see more disruption coming our way and loving every minute of it.
