RE: To the Socially Anxious: When is it time to put down the drugs?

I would agree with you. I personally self medicated with alcohol for a lot of years when dealing with PTSD. I have been sober for 16 days now. There are some symptoms that have gotten worse, but I am learning to deal with them in a positive manner. It's not always easy but it can be done. I have tried to insert massive amounts of humor into my life. I am also learning to stop, take a deep breath and smell the roses. I set aside time for meditation. And I try to keep my mind and hands as busy as possible. Blogging on Steemit is one way I keep my mind and hands busy.

I feel ya. I wish you the best in your sobriety, you can do it! Most people could benefit from inserting massive amounts of humor into their lives, we don't smile enough.

I have also found that exercise helps me to remain "level" everyday.
