I haven't used Noise.Cash, so my questions may not make sense. Even so, I need to ask a couple regarding it as an alternative to Instagram:
- Does Noise.Cash allow Markdown? If so, this may be a workaround for the "photo at top" problem you described.
- Wouldn't a link to a video be enough? Just host the video elsewhere (say, at 3Speak), then use Noise.Cash to point to the video.
If these 2 things can be done, then you may be on your way to using Noise.Cash as a replacement for Instagram. If not, we can still dream.
no support for Markdown which is part of the problem.
linking to videos is how we currently do it but nothing appears inline so it ends up being more inline with the internet in the 90s and early 2000s 😂
If Noise.Cash doesn't allow Markdown in the post, will it allow HTML such as code for tables?
As for inline links, that's not necessarily a bad thing. What matters is that the link leads to the video.
Nope, nothing but text. It’s not a bad thing per se but the point I’m trying to make is that if you’re going to bill yourself as a repacement of something, you need to provide the same minimum feature set. For the most part noise.cash does that but there are design decisions that can turn the average punter away.
The thing noise.cash does do well with though is the community spirit. Twitter is pretty soulless.
Got it. Having much overlap in features helps in something becoming a suitable replacement for something else. Never underestimate community spirit, too.
What purpose does Noise.Cash serve for you compared to Twitter or D.Buzz?
I got into noise.cash because I don’t really like Twitter and I never knew about D.Buzz. I had been using Hive via Ecency but never figured it to be a Twitter style site but I’m wrong with that.
I do like how noise.cash and read.cash pay out in Bitcoin Cash.
I abandoned FB in 2013, and I never signed up for Twitter.
D.Buzz I discovered after being on Hive for a few months. It doesn't have anywhere the numbers of Twitter, but it may have more in common than people realize. It may even have more features than Noise.Cash. I can't confirm that, but you can.
I think that rather than use DBuzz (which employs Twitter’s nasty character limit) I’d just rather use Ecency which has an iOS app. It’s all Hive after all. 👍
