Relaxing as a Social Media Manager.

What I do to Relax.

When people hear you work on Facebook, they immediately think it's all about playing Angry Birds and other games and apps, unfortunately, it is far from the truth! In fact, it is all about monitoring, managing and engaging fans and followers on several levels, and not just limited to Facebook. Covering the other networks such as Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, Google+ to name but a few. My wife will quite often say to me, "Have you seen what I have posted on your Timeline?", or, "Have you seen what so and so has posted?" Ninety-nine times out of a hundred I will say "No".

It's not that I am not interested in what someone else has had for breakfast, or whether the weather is sunny or raining, it's because my focus is elsewhere. I also have a dislike for people who use social media in a bad way, there are several things that really get on my goat, these include; Moaning about their partner or ex, asking you to copy and paste statuses rather than like, as if that's going to cure an illness or solve world poverty!, in general doing their dirty laundry in public, and my favourite pet hate is unambiguous comments aimed at some person who they do not mention.

So when it comes to relaxing, no I don't use social media, I still like to have a browse and a nosey to see what my friends are up to, but my passion really is gaming. So, when I need a break, on goes the Xbox One, and a good session gets me in a great mood, usually my first choice of game is zombie related, and I have to say I have played just about all of them and with great success, I recently completed State of Decay 2, a game I had waited years to come out, I maxed out on the Xbox points and unfortunately for me, the game no longer is a challenge. I have now reverted back to playing Paladins and in November will certainly be playing the new Fallout game (Coincidently it comes out the same month of my birthday!)

But, it is not ALL about gaming to relax, many of you who follow me on Steemit will know I have a passion for developing my garden, and although I would have loved to have just paid outright to have everything done, it is more a case of doing it in stages as and when I can afford it. I still have a long way to go with it, but even now it is wonderful to just sit outside, enjoy the peace and soak up the sun (Or be tantalised by my solar lights at night.)

So, I really didn't need to write this elongated blog, simply I could have put it in a tweet "Q: What I do to relax? Play Xbox and sit in the garden!" But where is the fun in that ;)
