There is no questioning the fact that those in law enforcement have a very difficult job. Ask any law enforcement officer, and they will tell you that some calls are much more difficult than others. One particular call that police officers do not care to go to at all would be a domestic violence call. The fact that when the police are sent on a domestic violence call someone will usually be arrested is always paramount in their minds. As a private citizen, you might be interested and how you can avoid a domestic violence call to your home. What are some things you can do to avoid this unfortunate circumstance? If you are drinking, stop.

Not to mention the fact that being intoxicated will increase the likelihood that your domestic violence charge will sick. Simply put, as law enforcement Officers we strongly suggest if you want to avoid a domestic violence arrest do not drink. Period.

If you are arguing, and it is at a standstill, then take a walk to cool off.

The most important thing is to give you and your significant other some space from each other if you are in the middle of a seemingly impossible argument. You might be surprised just how well even 20 minutes of space can do for each of your emotions. Just simply walk away from the argument and trust me, it will do wonders.

If you have anger problems, get anger management counseling.

The fact of the matter is, if you have a lot of anger in your life, then chances are you will take it out on those your closest to. Needless to say, you do not want to do that. In order to avoid that, you need to look up various anger management programs in your locale and consider taking a class.
