As the quest for alternative energy perseveres and becomes more creative, some factions of people say solar energy is the future.
I'm not a psychic, but I do hope the future will be that bright.
What's got me hooked on solar is just how easy it is. Dig for the resources once when you make the panels. They require little to no maintenance because there are no moving parts, only the rig needs attention if it's tracking the Sun. So as long as a tree doesn't go flying through your roof smashing your house and panels, and the panels are of good quality, you can't stick enough panels on a roof to offset your energy demands for as long as your in the home.
My personal goal is to build my own home that's energy independent via green energy, such as solar and wind. The concept itself is quite serene, basking in the Sun and producing all the energy you need.
So easy just stick 'em up there and forget about 'em.
I sure thought it wold be when I donated to that Solar Roadways project a few years ago. Hopefully more and more solar projects will catch on. Between solar, wind and tides, there's lot of mostly clean renewable energy available if we tap it!
