Solar In Canada

in #solar7 years ago

People ask me all the time if solar in Canada is worth it?
Of course! The sun shines every day doesn't it? Unless you're in the arctic where it's 6 months day 6 months night, but even still that is 50/50 of light and dark.

Solar isn't a belief system. I don't believe if the Sun will rise every morning, I KNOW it will!
Renewable energy IS the future. It is only a matter of time.

Canada is known for being cold, so people are concerned about the snow on the panels. This has caused such controversy that the University of Alberta conducted a study doing a side by side comparison of 2 solar arrays, each with different angles, one side is cleaned of snow, while the other one was left to collect as much as 2" of snow. There was only a 2% drop in efficiency because of snow coverage!

Gone are the days of ground mounted systems (pedestals that track the Sun) with the end of government programs that allow you to sell the energy for a premium.

Energy independence is here and it is to stay. Solar Brokers Canada provides a turn key solution that allows homeowners have a system designed to satisfy their electrical needs, through the most cost efficient system.

Love to hear about people adopting solar, water and wind power. ONe idea I thought of is there's got to be a way to add little waterwheels in pipes in high rise buildings that would generate electricity with every shower, flush and doing dishes etc..
