If you're thinking of getting an electric car, solar is something you should probably consider, if you haven't already.
Solar definitely is NOT for everyone! It isn't a free endeavour, nor does everyone's roofs are large enough to house enough panels to satisfy electrical demands, let alone are oriented in the right direction to maximize efficiency.
The easiest way to determine so is by finding out where you are, not just street address, but actually latitude and longitude! This can easily be done via any global positioning software such as Google maps or Bing maps. The latitude is critical because it tells you have far you are from the equator, at that number itself is the angle you point the panels to.
For example, I'm located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which is 45 degrees North of the Equator, which means we need to point our solar array to the south, and tilt them back 45 degrees.
By doing so, you become immune to the rising costs of hydro, which is true no matter which country you live in!
