Get to know our local FRUIT TREES ( Rambutan fruit )

in #solarisfuture5 months ago

Rambutan fruit has the Latin word Nephelium lappaceum and this rambutan fruit is native to Indonesia. The characteristic of this rambutan fruit is that the fruit is round and full of hair and can be consumed when the fruit starts to turn red or reddish orange. The flesh of the fruit is thick and has a single seed inside. It tastes quite sweet, like longan or lychee, but rambutan is even tastier. But unfortunately I haven't been able to show this real rambutan fruit to all my Hive friends because this rambutan fruit is currently still in the flowering stage and is in the process of ripening. It will be 1-2 months before I can show my harvest to all of you.

Rambutan fruit trees are annual trees that have trees with large trunks, and you can see for yourself the tree behind me. This tree can be planted anywhere, including in front of the house, using a large bucket as shade, but the roots of this rambutan fruit tree are a bit nasty if left for a long period of time if the position of this plant is right in front of your house. Yes, it can damage the floor. your house later, if you come to my village in Binjai City, you will find many rambutan trees in the yard of every house because my city has the nickname Rambutan City.

in the yard opposite my house there are 4 rambutan trees, the first is a rambutan tree that is 1 year old and is starting to show its first fruit, the second is a rambutan tree that has died and this rambutan tree died because it was attacked by caterpillars. The owner just left it like that because the owner intended to sell the dead rambutan tree to make charcoal. and you should know that if the stems of these rambutan fruit trees are used as firewood, the embers produced do not burn out easily, the aroma produced is also very fragrant. then if we burn the rambutan wood and sap comes out from the ends of the branches then it can be applied to the wound so that it dries quickly and doesn't get infected easily. and I've known this since I was little and I used to do it often.

The third and fourth trees are long-standing rambutan fruit trees that are over 5 years old and look at the trunk which is very large. and when it is very old, the large trunk of this rambutan tree can not only be used as firewood but can also be used as material for making small buildings or livestock pens.

So in conclusion why this rambutan fruit tree is so special for me

  1. Rambutan fruit is a native fruit from Indonesia and in my city this fruit is one of the people's favorite fruits because of its sweet fruit, my city is also called Rambutan City, even our city's iconic monument is a large rambutan fruit. for that reason, I have special pride in this local fruit
  2. Unlike bananas or coconuts, all of which can be used, but still, if there is a charcoal grilling event, choosing charcoal from the rambutan fruit tree will make our grilled food more fragrant.
  3. The tree, which is quite large and sturdy, was used as a tree house when I was little and I really miss it.
