Anyone with 8$ can now get verified on Twitter. Some people think it's a bad thing others think it's a good thing. I believe Elon is just a business man looking for profit.

Well as for me I am not interested in paying to use social media when there are better platforms where you can socialize for free and even get paid for it...but also I believe that someone who is a verified user on twitter and he or she is using the verification badge for some certain business purpose , then such person should not find it difficult to spend money for the verifications..
Whatever Elon's motive, he is doing the world a favor! The world doesn't need a social media where censorship is cheered by a group with an ideological slant. Freedom of speech is too valuable.

$8 is not enough to stop scammers - it's a bad idea.
it doesn¨t have that much to do with the money really if one knows the history of all the people not agreeing what the goverment said never got blue-marked.... even famous youtubers with millions of followers.
