We are updating things behind the scenes. The primary reason we have not released version 5 is because it will remove the blockchain connection to Hive and I am afraid that if we do that we will upset the community, so although we have pushed recent updates into the software we still need to add all of the APIs and detailed work to add Hive back into the latest version. What do you think GreyWarden ? Should we go ahead and release version 5 without Hive for now?

Sort:

I would just release v5 even when that means no blockchain. The main focus should be on bringing more people on to the platform so we can scale. When (if) next bull run BC schools be up and running

People tend to complain about everything, since the v5 have not been released yet at the expected date i guess the wait for all the integration will be worth it since it has already begun lets have everything all set so we can have a balance v5 as long it won't take another few months.

Whatever is more efficient is my opinion Chris. No one should complain if you decide to release version 5 without Hive temporarily, as everyone can use PeakD or Ecency for monetizations.

I bet people will still complain no matter what. We need to go with the most efficient method. If releasing version 5 without Hive is more efficient? Go with that. If working behind the scenes to include Hive on version 5 is more efficient? Then we should go with that instead.

I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to go about this. If we include Hive at a later time, we still have hive.blog, somee.blog, PeakD and Ecency we can use for monetizations if monetizations is what people are worried about.
