I've been loving this idea since I heard about it several years ago. You mentionthat water is a problem; I think hydrogen is the limiting factor there. Venus's atmosphere contains very little hydrogen in any form. It's a very intriguing problem! Aside from just water, how do you synthesize plastics without hydrogen?
