I think you intended to elucidate that when iron is formed at the core of a star, it becomes the germ of her inevitable death. Iron, unlike other elements do not fuse, and thus, becomes an energy sink, resulting in eventual implosion of the Star due to gravity and her spectacular death in Nova.
