Vesto Melvin Silfer was an American astrophysicist. In 1912 he used to measure the radial velocity of the first galaxies (or the radial velocity itself), that the galaxies from our globe are actually moving away.
Radial velocity of an object means that the rate of change in the distance of an object is subject to a point relative to a point. The rate of change in distance with time is velocity. In other words, in the language of radial velcity we will understand the speed of any object with respect to which point. Now that point in astrophysicology is almost always considered to be the world. So, our radial velocity is to move away from something in relation to the world or, the velocity of approaching.
Melvin Silphy was the first to calculate the radial velocity, which saw the red shifts of galaxies, or red, which made him the inventor of the red shield of galaxy. Unfortunately, fewer people know his name. Usually Edwin Hubble is known as the inventor of the redshift of the galaxy. That is not true at all. Silphar did not understand the astronomical significance of his observations. He thought that these are just spiral nebula but later understood that these were actually galaxies outside our Milky Way galaxy.
Later, in 1918, the Redshift of the Curl Wilhelm Wirts Nebula was reviewed again. He wrote a paper in 1922. In this, he claims that the distant galaxies are more than the redshift of the redshift of the galaxy. Because of this, he said that the radiological velocity of distant galaxies is more like that. In another research paper in the same year, he claims that the redshift of spiral galaxies that are rotating on the opposite side of the clock is less than the galaxies that are rotating around the clock.
That is, these two scientists have long before Edwin Hubble showed that the galaxies are gradually moving away and the greater the number of galaxies their redshafts. But these studies have not been properly used in astrophysicist at that time. They did not even realize that their research work was actually pointing to a big issue.
