Mi abuela tenía un tinajero que de él su agua bebía porque ella decía que la refrescaba y la rejuvenecía.
Cuando llegaban sus amigos, les provocaba tomar de esa agua viva.
Colgando de un ladito, un helechito, verdecito y menudito como la esperanza daba la bienvenida y guindando la totuma - con su grietita de vejez - pero agua fresca y destilada se bebía.
Mi abuela no leía ni escribía pero tenía una sabiduría que la vida le enseñó. Cuidaba con esmero ese tinajero. Era una armazón de madera rústica perdiendo brillo en su color. Con fina tela de alambre recubiertas sus paredes.
Este tinajero era un filtro artesanal. En la mayoría de los hogares se usaba con elegancia. Se tenía en el pasillo o en el comedor de la casa. El tiempo lo envejeció al punto que todo se desarmó quedando la piedra en buenas condiciones. Colocándola en una nueva estructura más moderna pero con la misma esencia de dar agua fresca y pura, agradable al paladar para lo que fue concebido... Una nevera artesanal.
Un día llegó de visita una amiga de la casa directo al tinajero para tomar agua y refrescarse de la caminata. Pero dió un tropezón y la totuma salió disparada, se le cayó de las manos, partiéndose en dos pedazos y le rompió el corazón a mi abuelita quien cuidaba con tanto esmero su vieja totumita. Ella nunca la consideró viejita.
El apego de las cosas, no pensar que todo tiene un ciclo que se cumple y se renueva.

My grandmother had a "tinajero" that she drank her water from because she said it refreshed and rejuvenated her.
When fer friends arrived, ahe made them drink that living water.
Hanging from one side, a little fern, green and tiny like hope, welcomed and hanging on the "totuma" - with its little crack of old age - but fresh and distilled water was drunk.
My grandmother did not read or write but she had a wisdom that life taught her. Sfe took great care of that "tinajero". It was a rustic wooden frame losing its shine in color. With fine wire mesh covered its walls.
This "tinajero" was a handmade filter. In most homes it was used elegantly. It was kept in the hallway or dining room of the house. Time aged it to the point that everything fell apart, leaving the stone in good condition. Placing it in a new, more modern structure but with the same essence of providing fresh and pure water, pleasant to the palate for what it was conceived... A handmade refrigerator.
One day a friend came to visit directly to the water tank to drink water and cool off from the walk. But she stumbled and the"totuma" flew out, it fell out of her hands, breaking into two pieces and it broke the heart of my grandmother who took such great care of her old "totumita". She never considered it old.
The attachment to things, not thinking that everything has a cycle that is fulfilled and renewed.
