Ever watched the movie "V for Vendetta '? You may also often see accounts with Anonymous masks in social media. The mask shown is also the same as the character 'V', played by actor Hugo Weaving.

But, actually from where the heck, the origin of a pretty white mask 'creepy' this?

Previously, "Anonynous" was a group of activists as well as hackers (popularly referred to as 'hacktivists'). As per their mission of putting forward the "anonymous" nature (unrelated to who and what real identity), the group that stood in 2003 never showed their true face in public. When performing a demo, everyone is wearing a white mask with a mustache that always smiles cold.

Who has watched the movie 'V for Vendetta', may be curious about November 5th. Today is linked to the history and character of Guy Fawkes. Fawkes was a member of the Gunpowder Plot who wanted to blow up the British Royal House of Parliament in 1605, precisely on that date. It's all because of Fawkes's disappointment at the government's policy which he thinks is unfair.

Unfortunately, Fawkes's efforts failed. This figure was caught and sentenced to death.

Then, what is the same relationship of this 'Anonymous' mask?

Guy Fawkes's struggle inspired many Britons. Initially, Guy Fawkes mask came out with many versions, until the graphic novel "V for Vendetta" made by Alan Moore then came out. The graphic novel that was released in 1988-1989 popularized the design of the mask by illustrator David Lloyd, who at that time collaborated with Moore.

This graphic novel does take the idea of an event that befell Guy Fawkes. When filmed in 2006, the iconic and memorable V shape increasingly popularized the presence of this white mask. Not just appearing on online shopping pages, while street demonstrations also exist. This is exactly the last scene of the film, in which the British people flocked to the streets wearing the same mask.

Of course, the "Anonymous" team also did not want to miss it. This mask became a symbol of their rebellion against the greed of the capitalists and their struggle for freedom.
