English Version:
Hello steemian @ s, In case you do not know me I introduce myself, I am Mike Alvarez and welcome to a new post.
After a long time of thinking that I could offer the steemit community I have come to the conclusion of offering a bit of my knowledge about photography. that perhaps more than one can serve you.
First I will tell you a bit about my story and how I got to the world of photography; Although I have always liked art in general and for me photography is an art, when I learned to manipulate a camera more thoroughly and see the diversity of options and things I could do with it I just fell in love, it was love at first sight between a camera and a human.
Some photos taken by me, nothing great.
Now yes: I was almost 3 years working in a company of advertising, graphic design and photography in general and I can assure you that I started in photography by chance, why do I say it was by chance? I tell you; In that company where I worked at that time I was hired to work as a graphic designer (which is another of my passions), that I'll tell you later or in another post. As I was saying; I was a simple graphic designer of that company and a good day and I say a good day because it was the best thing that could happen to me ... they dismissed a photographer, obviously I am not happy about their misfortune, even if that had not happened I do not doubt that I would have been involved with the photography, although I have to say that I always got my attention but I never took the step. Then they dismissed that photographer and although I did not have as much knowledge about manipulating a camera, being surrounded by cameras everywhere, on several occasions I had the opportunity to look at their options and throw one or another photo wrongly shot and go acquiring a bit of knowledge in my spare time about its functionality among other things. The point is that I do not know if in their countries they do this kind of work, but at least in my country (Dominican Republic) they usually work in bars and nightclubs offering the voluntary service of taking snapshots to people who are in that place for example: on several occasions I had the opportunity to look at their options and throw one or another photo wrongly shot and go acquiring a little knowledge in my spare time about its functionality among other things. The point is that I do not know if in their countries they do this kind of work, but at least in my country (Dominican Republic) they usually work in bars and nightclubs offering the voluntary service of taking snapshots to people who are in that place for example:
Then they put me to do the work that was the photographer's job and that's why they paid me a% depending on the amount of snapshots that I managed to sell. I admit it was a disaster but it was the beginning of everything.
That day I did not have a profit due to the fact that:
1.- I did not know how to manipulate the camera properly.
2.- Sometimes I get to cut part of the head or feet of people in the photograph.
3.- I was super nervous (Although also excited). but more nervous than excited.
I was super intimidated as if something bad were going to happen to me and the worst thing for that type of work where you have to deal with people taken is to be shy and others to notice.
To summarize the whole story is that from that moment I knew what I was passionate about, what I wanted to do and although I no longer work for that company and I am an independent photographer, I thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to know what was I really loved.
I'm not the best photographer in the world, nor is it the best post, nor do I know if this type of posts have a lot of graphics, I just wanted to tell you a little
I am not very good at writing as I said in a previous post so apologize for any misspellings you may have, I also appreciate your attention. I suppose it will be impossible for someone to read all this but I add it in case you fly.
So if you want to learn a bit about tricks and functionalities of different types of cameras and graphic design I invite you to follow me.
Thank you for coming here. My name is Mike Alvarez and I hope you have a very nice rest of the day and of the week.
Until a next post.
