Quiero compartir con vosotros el delid que le he hecho a mi i7 8700K. Hace tiempo escribí un post sobre este proceso. Pues bien, me he decidido a hacerlo y el resultado es magnífico: unos 20º C menos que antes de hacer delid.
Para quién no lo sepa, el delid consiste quitar la tapa del procesador, retirar la pasta térmica de mala calidad que Intel aplica a sus procesadores entre el Die (núcleo) y el IHS (tapa); colocar una pasta térmica de metal líquido, y cerrarlo. El metal líquido es una mezcla de galio e indio, y conduce el calor desde el procesador hasta el disipador mucho mejor que la pasta original.
Dicho esto, paso a enseñaros las fotos del proceso.
Listo para abrir. Esta herramienta aplica presión sobre el IHS y lo separa de la CPU (están unidos mediante pegamento):
Abierto, como podéis ver, la pasta térmica que tiene no tiene demasiada buena pinta, además, el espacio entre el IHS y el DIE es grande debido al pegamento:
Aquí limpio y sin pegamento. Empecé a quitar el pegamento del IHS con un destornillador pequeño y vi que se rayaba un poco, así que el del procesador lo quité con un palo de pinchito de madera modificado. Recomiendo algo de madera o plástico, sale perfecto:
Le he puesto cinta kapton para minimizar el riesgo si se sale la Conductonaut de su sitio (conduce la electricidad):
Una pequeña gota de Conductonaut es suficiente, engaña mucho:
Extendida, aunque luego le añadí un poquito más, y por la cara interna del IHS también (de esto no tengo foto):
Unas gotitas de silicona de alta temperatura UHU para fijar el IHS al procesador. Este paso no es necesario ya que se puede poner la tapa encima y cerrar el socket, pero yo prefiero tenerlo todo de una pieza:
Y aquí ya por fin colocado en su sitio:
Antes tenía temperaturas máximas de unos 73º jugando al PUBG con overclock a 4.7 Ghz en todos los núcleos y 1.23V; todo esto con una RL Custom de EKWB con 2 radiadores (360+240).
Después del delid y con la misma configuración, el núcleo que más se ha calentado tras una partida han sido 52º y eso que hace calor ahora en verano.
Al principio me daba un poco de miedo por si lo estropeaba, pero una vez hecho me he dado cuenta de que es prácticamente imposible estropearlo si lo haces con cuidado.

Siempre es importante hacerle mantenimiento a nuestra propia computadora y sobretodo cuidar el procesador porque las altas temperaturas lo pueden dejar inservible. Es un excelente post el que has hecho y que bueno que hiciste con sumo cuidado
