Thin Legged Wolf Spider?

in #spider7 years ago

What do you think?

I found this spider on my barn door yesterday. It was pretty mellow and allowed me to get a bunch of pictures of it. I even got a couple shots with the flash and it didn't seem phased. I think this is a Wolf Spider as I can't seem to find any images as close in my searching.

This post is insightful, does anyone know why this great species of spider (wolf spider) is being called wolf spider.
The answer simply stated thus: because it hunt and catch its prey like a wolf.ter-insects-wolf-spider-article-2.jpeg

It can be found in open grasslands and fields, suburban backyards, wooded areas, wet coastal forests, and in vegetation along streams, lakes and marshes.
