What Are The Two Skills Necessary For Success On Steemit?
As I begin to get closer and closer to reaching that 1000 follower milestone, I can't help looking back on my last eight months on this platform. When I do, I feel happy and proud of what I've been able to accomplish in this relatively short amount of time, but also angry at the fact that I let two months of inactivity fly by, which I could've spent fueling up for our ride to the moon that will surely occur in the next few months!
There is no question in my mind that Steemit is the only place you need to be at this moment in time, and every Steem powered up is an investment in a future of financial freedom! That is why I am extremely motivated to utilize as much of this opportunity as possible.
The two skills I knew I needed to master to make this happen was that of adaptability and preparation! There is no question that life happens, but we can't let what is happening around us impact our growth on Steemit!
After I returned from my two month hiatus I made a pledge to post every day, which at the time wasn't a hard goal to maintain, but as I began to move further into the new year and the responsibilities at my job started to get more cumbersome, I knew I had to learn to adapt or I would get left behind in the current gold rush, that is Steemit and crypto currencies!
Here are a few ways I managed to stay consistent!
- I created a series that I could easily blog or vlog about everyday! I got this idea from the seven day black and white challenge that was going around Steemit for a while. I decided to create the 90 day workout challenge, where I pledged to go to the gym and document my progress for 90 day!
- I set aside some time everyday where I could blog! Currently that time is during my lunch hour!
- I started to get up 1-2 hours earlier to prep or create content for my blog!
- I followed authors that I look up to that always spread a positive message, which motivated me to keep grinding!
The most important tip out of those four would be waking up earlier! I found that attacking blogging with a fresh mind and without any environmental stressors, were the periods where I created my best content! Now, I wouldn't recommend posting your content at an earlier time, but having even a few ideas written down will be unbelievably beneficial for your creative process!
Well my lunch hour is coming to a close, so I have to end it here, but hopefully this post was helpful in someway! Let me know in the comments how you manage to remain consistent on Steemit! This has been a message from your friendly neighborhood #spiderblogger!
Great tips! I love the "series that was easy to blog about" idea.
They say the best way to diet or exercise etc is the one you'll actually do, lol. Having some sort of foundation to blog from seems like a great suggestion.
I feel like the combination of those two things is really, really tough to beat, at anything.
You're like Yoda today! I love it.
Literally the workout challenge posts have saved my life so many times 😂 it also got me surprisingly big too 😳
And lmao yo I wish I could take the creative credit for that Yoda line, but that was a huge typo 😂😂😂 that lunch time rush is deadly for my edit game haha
I agree! Thoughtfully preparing content has been key in my first month. As a writer, I keep tons of notes and ideas jotted down and have a specific content-planning journal. I plan out my content up to a month in advance and can chip away at it when I have time, rather than hopping on to Steemit and running around like a chicken with my head cut off (which I still do often anyway). I love it here and love investing in the platform.
Thanks for this great post!
Wow a month in advance?! That’s very impressive haha even though I prepare somewhat now, more times than not, I’m chicken little running around like the sky is falling😂😂
This is very valuable!
I woke up early this morning myself since I've started working again and I find the mornings perfect for writing prep. Everything is just so effortless and you are really speaking your mind since nothing else has really been able to procure.
Literally the best feeling ever! I always like having a piping hot cup of coffee next to me when I right! Less to drink and more to set the mood, and the ideas tend to just start flowing!
Same here! The smell alone lets me know it's crunch time.
Steem has so much upside potential. It's unreal. That fact alone should be plenty of motivation to go hard at it! Great post, thanks
A ton of upward potential that it’s borderline scary! Scary cause I haven’t hit dolphin status yet, and this ship could leave orbit at anytime!!
You and me both - I have the same feelings!
I signed up with steem last year August or there about and only got serious this year. Since stepping up my game, i have evolved more and i think more. Content creation is not the easiest thing to do. But i have realised that putting steemit in your to-do list daily empowers you to look at the world around you with awe and the eyes of a navigator. Thanks for your share. I enjoyed it.
The pressure of coming up with something new to write everyday will test your creative ability, mindset, and patience, but will also bring the best out of you! :)
I think your best tip is to create a series. I also think people can enjoy a lot of success by picking a niche and finding their audience. This is all good advice that I haven't followed. I need to think about it, though. :)
Happy I could help and yeah creating a series and fining a niche is key!
I'd very much rather wake up in a calm, dark room than to blinding light.
Thanks
Yes that's true
Good insight! thank you for posting this.
