Why Spider-Man 2017 Feels Like 'Just Another Show'

My problem with Spider-Man 2017 is the fact that it's just kind of nothing. The show doesn't make me angry but it doesn't make me happy either, it has a good voice cast but the voice direction is god-awful so a lot of the line delivery just Falls flat, the show is very unfinished in the animation department and you can tell that the storyboards wanted something way more eccentric and flashy, having Peter's whole life in the series basically revolve around a place for gifted people who also have spider powers makes him less unique, the villains are literally like nothing. I could nitpick the show to hell and back but at the end of the day it's just kind of there, I don't get nearly as mad about it as so many other Spider-Man fans do but I also would never call it good.

I think Ock is the only well-developed character in the entire series and the superior Arc actually is pretty well done and his death is like... Actually impactful and I'm surprised they went through with it. Other than that there is not anything I could say about a single one of the other villains because they show up for like 2 seconds and then Spider-Man says a math equation out loud and then points out that he made a joke about the villains look (which is super fucking annoying) so I don't know.

It's a shame because you can really tell during some sequences that they wanted to put a crazy amount of effort into the animation because sometimes it gets super fluid and well done and there's few instances where the lighting gets super crazy and appealing but for the most part it's just the dullest of colors possible and the most stiff animation imaginable.
